Course Description
This training provides comprehensive instruction on the safe operation, maintenance, and inspection of powered industrial trucks. Participants will learn workplace requirements, operator training standards, and safety practices to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and prevent workplace accidents.
Workplace Requirements (Sections A-K):
Operating instructions, warnings, and precautions for authorized truck types
Differences between industrial trucks and automobiles
Vehicle capacity, stability, and operating limitations
Operator Training (Section L):
Truck controls and instrumentation: location, function, and operation
Engine or motor operation and steering/maneuvering techniques
Visibility considerations, including restrictions due to loading
Fork and attachment adaptation, operation, and use limitations
Worker Safety (Sections M-Q):
Vehicle inspection and maintenance requirements for operators
Refueling and battery charging/recharging procedures
Safe operating practices to prevent accidents and injuries
Hands-On Practice:
