Course Description
This Fall Protection on High Walls training focuses on OSHA-required steps to protect employees from fall hazards in both general industry and construction. Participants will learn to identify common fall hazards, implement protective measures, and comply with regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Introduction to Fall Protection:
Overview of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910 Subpart D and 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M)
Understanding fall protection requirements for general industry (4 feet) and construction (6 feet)
Protection requirements for working near dangerous equipment regardless of height
Common Fall Hazards:
Identifying hazards such as cluttered work areas, wet floors, floor and wall openings, holes, ramps, and runways
Recognizing risks from protruding nails, loose boards, and inattentiveness
Fall Protection Systems and Measures:
Implementing guardrails, safety nets, and personal fall arrest systems
Safe practices for working at heights and near high walls
Workplace Safety Practices:
Maintaining clean and organized work areas to reduce hazards
Emergency response procedures for fall incidents
