Course Description
This course provides an in-depth understanding of the role, design, and functions of Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) within a multi-agency coordination system. Participants will learn to align EOC operations with NIMS requirements, enhance coordination with Incident Command Systems (ICS), and develop strategies for effective disaster response and recovery.
- Understand the role of EOCs in multi-agency coordination systems
- Relate EOC operations to National Incident Management System (NIMS) requirements
- EOC and Incident Command System (ICS) Relationship:
- Describe how EOCs support and coordinate with on-scene ICS structures
- Enhance communication and resource allocation between EOCs and ICS
- Identify staffing, information, systems, and equipment needs for effective EOC operations
- Evaluate the layout and organization of EOCs for optimal coordination
- Identify and assess potential alternate locations for EOC operations in case of primary facility damage
- EOC Resource and Technology Planning:
- Develop strategies to review and update EOC resource requirements and technology needs
- Create test, training, and exercise plans for critical EOC operations
