Arc Flash Arc Blast (NFPA)

This Arc Flash and Arc Blast training provides a comprehensive overview of OSHA and NFPA standards for working safely with or near energized electrical systems. Participants will learn to identify hazards, follow proper safety protocols, and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart S (General Industry) and 29 CFR 1926 Subpart K (Construction)
NFPA 70E standards for arc flash and arc blast safety
Hazard Identification and Job Briefings:
Recognizing arc flash and arc blast hazards
Conducting effective job briefings and understanding live work definitions
Requirements for live work permits
Working on or Near Energized Parts:
Minimum approach distances and protective action zones (updated 2015)
Insulation of equipment and electrical connections (NEC 2014 updates)
Proper use of PPE and apparel (APF levels updated for 2015)
NFPA 70E’s relation to OSHA Lockout/Tagout (29 CFR 1910.147)
Arc Flash Awareness and De-Energizing Guidelines:
Equipment grounding and electrical equipment testing
