Accident Prevention

This course provides the tools and strategies needed to establish and maintain an injury-free workplace. Participants will learn to identify root causes of accidents, implement effective prevention techniques, and address human factors to reduce risks and protect employees.

• Employ effective prevention techniques to reduce workplace injuries
• Analyze accidents/incidents to identify true root causes
• Understand and address human factors contributing to accidents
• Examine the hierarchy of controls and their application
• Implement engineering and administrative controls to mitigate risks
• Ensure proper issuance and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Address change management to prevent new hazards
• Develop and implement preventative controls

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.132 (General Requirements for Personal Protective Equipment) and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 (Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals)

The 4-hour class focuses on workers and prevention techniques, while the 8-hour class is designed for supervisors and includes the implementation of those techniques.
