Course Description

This OSHA-authorized 10-hour training program equips workers and employers with essential knowledge to recognize, avoid, and prevent workplace hazards in general industry settings. Participants will also learn about workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and OSHA compliance standards to promote a safer work environment.

  • Introduction to OSHA and Workplace Compliance:
    Explains OSHA standards, regulatory compliance requirements, worker rights, employer responsibilities, and procedures for reporting unsafe conditions or filing workplace safety complaints.
  • Walking and Working Surface Safety:
    Covers common hazards associated with walking and working surfaces, including slip, trip, and fall prevention strategies designed to maintain safe workplace environments.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Fire Prevention:
    Reviews exit route requirements, emergency action plans, fire prevention procedures, evacuation planning, and workplace preparedness measures used to protect employees during emergencies.
  • Electrical Safety and Hazardous Energy Control:
    Explains electrical safety principles, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices used to control hazardous energy and reduce the risk of electrical injuries.
  • Personal Protective Equipment and Hazard Communication:
    Covers the proper selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard communication requirements, chemical safety practices, and employee protection strategies in hazardous work environments.
  • Hazardous Materials, Machine Guarding, and Equipment Safety:
    Reviews safe handling procedures for hazardous materials, machine guarding requirements, equipment safety practices, and injury prevention measures related to workplace machinery and operations.
  • Ergonomics and Workplace Injury Prevention:
    Focuses on identifying ergonomic risk factors, preventing musculoskeletal injuries, and implementing workplace practices that improve employee safety and reduce repetitive strain injuries.
  • Safety and Health Program Development:
