Course Description

This Water Rescue course equips participants with the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively respond to water emergencies.   • The Four Essential Water Rescue Techniques:
    Covers the core water rescue methods of Reach, Throw, Row, and Go, emphasizing safe rescue priorities, victim assistance techniques, and rescuer safety during aquatic emergencies.
  • Reach and Throw Rescue Operations:
    Reviews close-range rescue techniques using poles, ropes, throw bags, life rings, and other flotation devices while focusing on maintaining rescuer stability and minimizing direct water entry risks.
  • Boat-Based and Swimming Rescue Techniques:
    Explains safe boat rescue procedures, victim approach strategies, downstream positioning, and advanced swimming rescues performed with proper training, buoyant aids, and rescue equipment.
  • Post-Rescue Care and Incident Command Coordination:
    Focuses on scene management, incident command procedures, victim monitoring, first aid considerations, evacuation planning, and coordination between rescue teams to prevent secondary emergencies.
  • Water Rescue Safety and Protective Equipment:
    Covers the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including personal flotation devices (PFDs), helmets, thermal protection gear, whistles, and lighting equipment while emphasizing hazard assessment and rescuer self-preservation.
