Course Description
This course provides comprehensive training for powered industrial truck (PIT) operators, focusing on safe operation, workplace hazards, and equipment-specific procedures. Through video, group discussions, and hands-on practice, participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to operate industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
Understand the types, features, and functions of powered industrial trucks, including critical safety measurements and the “stability triangle” to prevent tipovers
Learn how to interpret data plates and their importance in safe truck operation
Conduct pre-operational inspections using checklists, identify potential issues, and understand the importance of vehicle inspections
Master safe driving techniques, including the differences between powered industrial trucks and automobiles, and recognize common safety hazards
Develop skills in safe load handling, including lifting, raising, and lowering loads in aisles
Gain knowledge of LPG properties, refueling procedures, and tank components, while addressing related safety concerns
