Course Description

This course provides comprehensive training on hazardous waste management under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Participants will learn proper handling, labeling, storage, and compliance requirements to ensure safety and adherence to EPA regulations, with certification provided for both initial and refresher training.

Understand the requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) for hazardous waste management
Learn proper hazardous waste handling, labeling, and storage procedures, including:
Satellite accumulation areas and waste storage areas
Hazardous waste determination and common generator errors
Explore EPA regulations under 40 CFR 260-265 and applicable state-specific requirements
Understand the roles and responsibilities of employees, including supervisors, waste handlers, and program managers
Learn the importance of maintaining compliance as a Large Quantity Generator (LQG), including annual refresher training requirements
Gain insights into dual certification programs for RCRA and DOT training for those signing hazardous waste manifests

Program Length: RCRA Initial Training: 1 day RCRA/DOT Dual Certification: 2 days RCRA Refresher Training: 1 day (required annually for LQGs) This course is ideal for supervisors, hazardous waste generators, environmental compliance professionals, waste handlers, and facility staff who manage or handle hazardous waste. DOT training is required every 3 years for those signing hazardous waste manifests.
