Course Description
This Ergonomics training focuses on the science of fitting jobs to workers to prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and improve workplace safety. Participants will learn to identify ergonomic hazards, implement risk-reduction strategies, and design workstations and tasks to enhance comfort and productivity.
- Understanding ergonomics and its role in workplace safety
- Common ergonomic hazards, including repetitive stress injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome
- Recognizing MSD risk factors in various job tasks
- Conducting ergonomic assessments to identify hazards
- Redesigning workstations and tools to fit workers’ needs
- Implementing job rotation and task variation to reduce repetitive strain
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risks
- Addressing ergonomic issues under OSHA’s General Duty Clause
- Developing and maintaining an ergonomic safety program
- Educating workers on proper posture, lifting techniques, and workstation setup
